Ingrid Banshchikova

Ingrid Banshchikova supports Pew’s ocean governance project, focusing on advancing marine area-based protection measures in the high seas, including the United Nations treaty on marine biological diversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction. Before joining Pew, Banshchikova worked on ocean conservation through the World Wildlife Fund’s Arctic program, with particular attention on mitigating risks from industry to ocean biodiversity in the Arctic, such as shipping and oil and gas development. Banshchikova holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a master’s degree in international law from Lomonosov Moscow State University, as well as a master’s degree in public policy from Oregon State University.
